Assistant Security Director

General Summary

The Assistant Security Director serves as the organization's second most senior executive responsible for the identification, development, implementation, and management of the organization's security strategies, programs and operations, as well as the training of the security staff.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• In cooperation with the Security Director, and executive staff, directs the development of an effective strategy to assess and mitigate risk, maintain continuity of operations, and safeguard the organization.

• Advise and recommend a wide variety of security strategies in areas involving the uninterrupted operations of the hotel and casino.

• Responsible for the effective operations of the Security Department

• Directs staff in identifying, developing, implementing, and maintaining security processes, practices, and policies throughout the organization to reduce risks, respond to incidents, and limit exposure and liability in all areas of financial, physical, personal, and reputation risk.

• Researches and deploys state-of-the-art technology solutions and innovative security management techniques to safeguard the organization's assets. Establishes appropriate standards and associated risk controls.

• Develops relationships and partners with high-level law enforcement, intelligence, and private sector counterparts.

• Through subordinate senior security supervisors, coordinates and implements site security, operations, and activities to ensure protection of executives, managers, employees, customers, stakeholders, visitors, etc., as well as all physical assets, while ensuring optimal use of personnel and equipment.

• Maintains awareness of current laws, case laws, rules and regulations relating to security

• Develops and maintains short and long term departmental plans and budgets

• Responsible for maintaining clear and constant communication at all levels

• Organizes departmental services and resources to meet company goals, policies and procedures with an emphasis on effective and courteous service to customers and the employees of Savan Vegas

• Provides accurate documentation and the reporting of shift activities

• Keeps accurate records of all activities on a Savan Vegas database that is accessible at all times by the Savan Vegas senior management staff.

• Directs and/or assists in internal and external investigations

• Promotes and monitors the confidential treatment of all relevant information

• Develop procedures and assist in the administration and management of customer liability and industrial injury claims

• Perform the duties of subordinate personnel as required, and at all times, uses best efforts in the performance of duties.

• Such other job related duties as may be assigned by the Security Director

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Leadership skills to provide direction to the management and professional staff within the organization

• Must be an intelligent, articulate and persuasive leader who can serve as an effective member of the senior management team and who is able to communicate security-related concepts to a broad range of technical and non-technical staff.

• Experienced with business continuity planning, auditing, and risk management, as well as contract and vendor negotiation.

• Must have the ability to develop consensus within an organizational climate of diverse operations

• Has the ability to effectively communicate within all levels of the organization on the status of security issue

• Has the emotional maturity to understand the impact and sensitivity of security issues
