Building Surveyor

We are currently looking for a Building surveyor for Bahrain who can provide professional advice on all aspects of property and construction. You will be working on site with new buildings and will be involved with the aftercare and performance of existing buildings. This will be a very wide field and will include advising on various aspects of buildings at different stages, including:

1) Design

2) Maintenance

3) Repair

4) Dilapidations

5) Refurbishment

6) Restoration

7) Sustainability

Key Duties:

1) Ensuring projects are completed on budget and on time;

2) Advising clients on schemes and projects and determining requirements;

3) Preparing scheme designs with costings, programmes for completion of projects and specification of works;

4) Preparing documents for tender and advising on appointing contractors, designers and procurement routes;

5) Determining the condition of existing buildings, identifying and analysing defects, including proposals for repair

6) Advising on energy efficiency, environmental impact and sustainable construction

7) Advising on the preservation/conservation of historic buildings;

8) Advising on management and supervision of maintenance of buildings

9) Dealing with planning applications and advising on property legislation and building regulations

10) Assessing and designing buildings to meet the needs of people with disabilities

11) Advising on construction design and management regulations

12) Negotiating dilapidations (when there is a legal liability for a property's state of disrepair)

13) Carrying out feasibility studies

14) Advising on the health and safety aspects of buildings

15) Advising on boundary and rights of light disputes and party wall procedures

16) Preparing insurance assessments and claims.

Tax free salary and package negotionable depending on experience
