Buyer - Marine Services Rotterdam

As buyer for Marine Services you will be liaising with the vessels, suppliers, operations manager, field manager and logistics to ensure effective and timely supply of goods to enable the catering crews onboard the vessels to provide an efficient service to meet client needs.
You will report to the General Manager for Marine Services and your main responsibilities will be to:

Source and identify new vendors and maintain up to date database of providers, analyse market trends;
Manage and negotiate prices & terms and analyse & watch supplier market;
Support and perform tenders / new offer and assist the Operations Team in costing and rate negotiation;
Identify areas of business collaboration, synergy, volume leverage or supplier leverage which may not be visible to operational management;
Lead and manage supply chain;
Interact at all levels of management both inside the Company and outside with client, supplier and sub-contractors company organisations;
Analyse, review and finalise sourcing decisions. Conduct negotiations, including planning and development of strategy to reach objectives and negotiate long term contracts as appropriate;
Mobilisation and implementation on units (this includes updating of systems with price changes and/or product codes/brands).

A minimum of 3 to 5 years experience in the Marine Services;
A solid experience in purchasing worldwide;
Strong negotiation, analytical and communication skills;
Team player, able to train and support your colleagues;
Strong command of Dutch and English both speaking and writing.
