Summary:

The Vice President, International Sales will be an integral part of the senior leadership team and report directly to the President/CEO. It is the mission of this position to develop and execute short and long term sales strategies to expand the company’s customer base beyond the North American market, initially focusing on Europe and Asia. Passion for driving innovation, building solid customer and distributor relationships and developing new business will be essential as this role will be a vital member of the executive team and driver of the future growth and success of the organization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned

Develop and implement the overall International Sales and Marketing strategy that will drive revenue growth in global markets.

Build and develop solid relationships with distributors and partners across the globe.

Grow and manage the International Sales, Marketing, and Business Development organization.

Develop sales plans/projections based on strategic plans, establish operational sales targets linked to plan, monitor performance and initiate corrective action where needed.

Establish new markets; identify new opportunities, increase customer base and overall global sales presence in order to further drive name recognition of the company.

Contribute to the competitive analysis process to determine market pricing conditions and ensure technology competitiveness.

Closely monitor and anticipate global industry and market trends, while gathering competitive information to influence technology and product development.

Develop marketing plans that include advertising, trade shows, dealer/customer training, customer communication, collateral materials and product branding for all product lines.

Develop and manage the international sales/marketing budget.

Qualifications

The requirements below are the minimum requirements an employee needs to fulfill this position. They are representative of the knowledge, skills and ability required for the position.

10+ year career in global sales and business development positions of increasing responsibility.

Solid background and track record in sales and sales channel management, including key accounts and customer service and a proven track record in designing and implementing sales and marketing strategies.

Experience with key account sales structures and leading a sales/marketing/business development team to meet revenue targets.

Experience in building and maintaining necessary internal structure for successful sales growth.

Strong technical aptitude and ability to credibly lead technical discussions in the field

Background in project management, project and cost control

Extensive established network of distributors, potential partners and industry contracts would be ideal.

The successful candidate will have experience in successfully building and managing international sales and marketing activities for technical products used in industrial or defense applications. Experience in the rotating machinery or energy conversion industries would be beneficial. Strong written and verbal communication skills required; proficiency in an additional European language would be advantageous. Undergraduate degree with MBA strongly preferred.
