Position Summary

The Marketing Programs Manager develops, plans, executes, measures and analyses integrated, multi-channel marketing programs that drive demand and sales leads to ultimately increase sales in the United Kingdom and Western Europe.

This position is based out of the Lyris UK office in London, and reports to the Director of Marketing Programs in the Emeryville, California, headquarters office.

Essential Functions

•Develop integrated, online demand and lead generation programs for Lyris product, service and solution offerings in the United Kingdom and Western Europe.

•Work closely with the Marketing Programs, Creative Services, PR, Sales, Marketing Operations and Product teams in the U.S., and with the UK-based sales and service teams.

•Define program strategies and develop, plan and execute all marketing plans for a subset of products, solutions and/or services.

oDefine, execute, measure and analyse outbound email campaigns (including messaging, creative, test cells, list definition, landing page creation and back-end tracking).

oDefine, execute and measure online advertising campaigns (including defining creative, messaging, test cells, media placements, tracking parameters, etc) and upkeep of the Lyris UK Web property content.

oDefine, develop, execute and measure other campaign components, assets and offers designed to develop qualified sales leads (including, but not limited to, live and recorded Webinars, written guides and white papers, video, etc.).

oUse Web analytics methods and practices to drive demonstrable business benefit.

oDevelopment of local lead generation events and tradeshows.

•Manage the allocated budget for all marketing programs managed from the UK office.

•Develop appropriate sales tools to support goals and the associated marketing programs to drive demand and leads for key products.

•Measure, report and analyse results of all marketing programs. Recommend optimization that achieves improved ROI.

Requirements - Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

If you are an objective and data-driven (*) marketer who takes initiative, is willing to both think strategically and roll up your sleeves to execute this may be the job for you. We’re looking for a thinker and a leader who is also very willing to learn and grow. We need someone who has translatable experience but who is comfortable creating processes from scratch, and who works well with Sales and other departments.

The requirements for this job include:

•A minimum of five years of business-to-business, lead generating marketing program management – ideally in a software or technology company, a company that sells to other businesses or for a service.

•Experience marketing to several countries, working with a U.S.-based support team and/or being an all-in-one marketing shop is a big advantage in this role.

•Effective and proven project management skills, especially those honed while working with cross-functional teams.

•Ability to create effective marketing programs & processes without a specific pattern to follow.

•Ability to “sell” your vision and action plan in a way that ensures the buy-in of others.

•Ability to see both the strategic big picture, and execute against detail. You must know the difference between strategy and tactics, and be able to manage your time and work accordingly.

•Demonstrated success in driving qualified marketing and sales leads in a business-to-business environment, with multi-channel media placements, event (online & offline) as well as with guerilla tactics using one’s own database.

•Exceptional writing skills, including:

oThe ability to develop (write and/or edit) compelling and relevant marketing copy for use across multiple online mediums;

oThe ability to write content and scripts for use in Webinars and other customer/prospect-facing presentations.

•Excellent verbal communication skills.

•Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively interact with people who have differing work styles from your own.

•The ability to capably manage projects, delegate when needed, prioritize, juggle numerous projects and project details, and communicate upwardly as appropriate. Above average project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple deadline-driven projects seamlessly at one time.

•Familiarity working with a media planning agency, with marketing via third party channels and venues, direct response program development and management.

•Strong and committed work ethic and the ability to work in a collaborative team environment while performing autonomously. The ability to think through a challenge and formulate a solution.

•Above average working knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint and basic graphics programs such as Paint or SnagIt.

•An above average understanding of email and online marketing best practices, email privacy laws, direct marketing and/or SEM/pay-per-click (PPC) is a plus.

•Working knowledge of Lyris HQ, Lyris ListManager, ClickTracks, EmailLabs or another email marketing solution is a big plus.
