Our client is the National Oil Company of Qatar. As part of the continued expansion of Oil & Gas activities, we are actively seeking to fill the following position

Primary Purpose of the Job

* To provide Gas Operations department with specialized expertise in the area loss prevention.

* To act as the HSS (G) department focal point in the project design review, including HAZOP, lay-out reviews of facilities, technical safety review and Hazard/Risk analysis studies.

* To provide Technical Safety advisory services for all safety related systems on Gas Operations facilities.

* To promote the safe design and construction of facilities and ensure adherence to established safety regulations and safety standards.

* To participate in QRA studies with Corporate HSE and Engineering departments.

* Liaise with Corporate HSE and Engineering departments develop the specifications of fixed, mobile and portable equipment for offshore fields.

Education:

* B.Sc. OR equivalent in engineering discipline.

* Diploma in Safety Management

* Level 6 English Proficiency

* Recognized safety courses (e.g.: NEBOSH )

* Member of recognized professional safety organization

* Hands-on PC experience

* Report writing course

Skills:

* Good negotiation skills

* Good presentation and investigation skills

* Good data interpretation and compilation skills

* Ability to write specifications and prepare mandated reports

* Ability to communicate well orally and in writing

* Ability to work effectively with various personnel and in teams, and be flexible in work assignments Ability for improving bad working practices/habits, employee performance

* Maintaining improved performance, utilizing effective follow up actions to solve employee or work related problems

Experience

* 10 years experience in the field of Fire and Safety systems design and construction. This includes all Safety and Fire topics covered in the Fire and Safety philosophy with extensive knowledge of international codes and standards, including 3 years experience in the operations of Oil/Gas or Petrochemical Process Plants.
