Quantity Surveyor

We are currently looking for an experienced quantity surveyor to work in the Kingdom of Bahrain to manage all costs relating to a project, from the initial calculations to the final figures. You will be required to minimize the costs of our project and enhance value for money, while still achieving the required standards and quality.

Key Duties:

1) Managing costs on a wide variety of new building projects and structures, such as residential developments, sports stadiums, roads and bridges, schools, hospitals, offices and factories

2) Undertaking costs analysis for repair and maintenance project work

3) Assisting in establishing a client's requirements and undertaking feasibility studies

4) Performing risk and value management and cost control

5) Advising on procurement strategy

6) Preparing tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities;

7) Identifying, analysing and developing responses to commercial risks;

8) Preparing and analysing costings for tenders

9) Allocating work to subcontractors

10) Providing advice on contractual claims

11) Analysing outcomes and writing detailed progress reports

12) Valuing completed work and arranging payments

13) Maintaining awareness of the different building contracts in current use

14) Understanding the implications of health and safety regulations.

Advanced Duties:

15) Providing post-occupancy advice, facilities management services and life cycle costing advice

16) Assisting clients in locating and accessing additional and alternative sources of funds

17) Enabling clients to initiate construction projects

18) Advising on the maintenance costs of specific buildings.
