ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

This is an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated and experienced individual to join the Bank's Portfolio Risk Review Team. Here you will be responsible for the independent evaluation of the effectiveness of credit risk management activities, portfolio quality and the adequacy of loan loss provisions held across the Group.

The team is responsible for reviewing the Transaction Managed component of portfolios (i.e. the Institutional and Commercial Bank businesses in Australia, New Zealand and offshore centres).

The successful applicant will need to have extensive experience in credit approval and management in wholesale/institutional banking and will possess strong communication, planning and influencing skills.

The role involves some travel - both interstate and international - and provides a unique opportunity for a group-wide perspective on credit risk management frameworks and governance structures.

Major Accountabilities

* Monitor the performance of the Institutional and Commercial Banking portfolios to assess asset quality and develop appropriate review plans.

* Conduct hindsight reviews of customer credit files to assess the appropriateness of credit management of those exposures (including decision to approve, risk grading, approval conditioning and periodic review).

* Identify and report all significant portfolio and credit risk management issues, assign appropriate review ratings, and make suitable recommendations on actions required to rectify.

* Produce well written reports for distribution to Senior Management and Executive.

* Develop effective relationships with Senior Business and Credit Management to enhance PRR's image, reputation and credibility

* Provide coaching controls over credit processes

ABOUT THE REQUIREMENTS

Tertiary qualifications in accounting or financial management disciplines desirable.

Strengths are also expected in the following areas:

* Planning and organisational skills

* Judgement / problem solving skills

* Influencing / negotiation skills

* Commercial and organisation awareness

* Ability to meet deadlines
