Experienced in building a high-scale app from scratch


Full life cycle development experience


Capable of leading a small team (1-2) of Rails developers


In love with Ruby and Rails


Strong foundation in computer science

At least 3+ years as an architect responsible for highly scalable web applications used by millions of
users


Extensive experience creating service oriented architectures and RESTful web services

Expert knowledge of Mongo, including architecture and optimization to handle extremely large data sets
with tens of millions of daily requests

Extensive experience with various caching solutions such as Memcached, Redis, Varnish, etc.

Experience with application sharding, database clustering, cloud deployment and configuration, load balancing, and message queuing

History of successful open source contributions


Experience with complex applications


Desire to be part of a ground level company positioned for rapid success

Your Responsibilities






Build and manage a high-scale, data-intensive web and mobile infrastructure


Take ownership of the application, data

Build internal code to use the latest and greatest Ruby and Rails features like Arel and Rack
middleware
Create new libraries to replace those you find lacking


Heavy integration with third party services via RESTful APIs
